Report A Closing/Delay
To submit a closing or delay, you MUST have a CVC Weather Code. For instructions on obtaining a weather code, click here.
To submit a weather update:
- ELECTRONICALLY: Send an email to closings@catawbavalleycitizen.com with your name, your title, the name of your company, a phone number you can be reached at immediately, your CVC Weather Code and the details of your weather update (i.e. “Closed for all staff,” “Operating on a 2-hour delay,” “Morganton office closed,” etc.)Please be patient during busy times. We will get your update posted as quickly as possible. It is important, if you submit your weather update electronically, that you provide us with a phone number that you can be reached at immediately – as our team may need to call to verify details.
- TELEPHONE: To submit a weather update by phone, simply call our news desk at 828-270-9851. Have your code ready before you call. It will be the first thing we ask for. Because we receive many calls during inclement weather, please be patient with us. If you receive our voice mail, please leave your name, title, organization’s name, weather code and the details of your closing. Also, include a phone number (with area code) that we can call you back at immediately if we need to confirm your closing.
