NCDOT Hosts Outreach Meeting For Rest Area Renovations
RALEIGH, NC – The NC Department of Transportation is hosting an outreach meeting for prime contractors and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise subcontractors interested in doing work on the renovation of the Catawba County Rest Area and facilities on Interstate 40.
The outreach meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 11am at the Gaston County Technical College Auditorium in Belmont located at 7220 Wilkinson Blvd. NCDOT will provide prime contractors and DBE subcontractors information on this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded project, as well as other ARRA-funded projects in the local area.
Contractors who specialize in metal framing, drywall installation, masonry, grading, seeding, fencing, etc. are encouraged to attend.
According to the Federal Highway Administration, every $1 million spent on transportation creates 30 jobs, and according to the construction industry, every dollar invested in transportation generates $6 in economic impact.
